To examine the ways social media analytics feeds into customer engagement within e-commerce, this study relied on a mixed-method research design. Surveys of 250 online shoppers provided quantitative measures of personalized recommendations, content relevance, response speed, and customer engagement, alongside interviews with 15 e-commerce marketing professionals that supplied qualitative detail on how analytics is handled in practice. Correlation and regression were run on the quantitative figures while the interviews were interpreted through thematic analysis; bringing the two strands together yielded a full picture of how social media analytics connects to customer engagement. Customer engagement showed significant positive correlations with personalized recommendations, content relevance, and response speed; all three emerged as statistically significant, independent predictors in the regression analysis, led by personalized recommendations. The interview material yielded four central themes reflecting everyday social media analytics work among marketers: using data for personalization, responding in real time, tuning content by watching performance metrics, and wrestling with how to turn raw numbers into concrete plans. When the quantitative and qualitative outputs were brought together, the levels of personalization and responsiveness that shoppers reported experiencing aligned neatly with the specific analytics-backed methods the marketers spoke of using. The study concludes that social media analytics feeds customer engagement above all by making interactions more personalized, relevant, and prompt, before weighing what this means for marketing practitioners and future research.
