Editorial Guidelines

The International Review of Sustainable Economics and Finance (IRSEF) is dedicated to advancing high-quality research in sustainable economics, finance, and related disciplines. These editorial guidelines provide a transparent, ethical, and structured framework for all stakeholders—authors, reviewers, and editors—ensuring manuscripts are handled with academic integrity, fairness, and professional rigor throughout the editorial process.

1. Submission and Initial Evaluation

Scope and Relevance:
Submissions must be original and fall within the aims and scope of IRSEF, including sustainable economics, financial policy, green finance, corporate governance, and interdisciplinary economic studies. Authors are encouraged to consult the Aims & Scope section before submission.

Plagiarism Screening:
All manuscripts undergo mandatory plagiarism checks (e.g., Turnitin) with a maximum similarity threshold of 19%. Submissions exceeding this limit may be returned or rejected without peer review.

Manuscript Format Requirements:
All manuscripts must comply with the Author Guidelines, including:

  • Title and author information

  • Abstract and keywords

  • Structured body (IMRAD or relevant structure)

  • Proper referencing (APA style, latest edition)

  • Tables, figures, ethical statements, and acknowledgments

Licensing Terms:
Accepted articles are published under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). Sharing is permitted with attribution, but commercial reuse or modification is prohibited.

2. Peer Review Policy

Double-Blind Review:

  • Both author and reviewer identities remain confidential.

  • Each submission is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers.

Reviewer Selection and Ethics:

  • Reviewers are chosen based on expertise, research credentials, and absence of conflict of interest.

  • All material is confidential and cannot be used by editors or reviewers.

Timeliness:

  • Reviewers are expected to respond within 2–4 weeks.

  • Editors ensure timely communication and feedback throughout the review process.

3. Editorial Decision-Making

Possible Decisions:

  • ✅ Accept

  • ✏️ Minor Revisions

  • Major Revisions

  • ❌ Reject

Revision and Resubmission:

  • Authors must submit revised manuscripts within the specified timeframe and provide point-by-point responses to reviewer feedback.

Appeals:

  • Authors may appeal decisions by submitting a formal request to the Editor-in-Chief. Appeals may involve consultation with additional reviewers.

4. Ethical Standards and Responsibilities

Authorship Criteria:
All listed authors must have made significant contributions. The corresponding author ensures all contributors approve the submission.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure:
All financial, professional, or personal relationships that could influence the manuscript evaluation must be disclosed.

Research Ethics:
Studies involving human participants, surveys, or institutional data must include statements of ethical approval and informed consent.

5. Post-Publication Policy

Corrections and Retractions:

  • Erratum: Publisher-corrected errors

  • Corrigendum: Author-corrected errors

  • Retraction: For invalid or unethical research
    All changes are transparent and indexed appropriately.

Digital Archiving:
All articles are permanently archived to ensure accessibility and citation continuity. IRSEF partners with secure repositories for long-term preservation.

6. Editorial Board Responsibilities

Selection Criteria:
Board members are selected based on subject expertise, research credentials, and commitment to ethical publishing.

Duties:
Support peer review, quality assurance, strategic development, and ethical governance.

Rotation and Renewal:
Board composition is periodically refreshed to maintain diversity and innovation.

7. Communication and Transparency

Author Support:
The editorial office is available for inquiries regarding manuscript status, submission procedures, revisions, and publication timelines.

Professional Conduct:
All communication between authors, reviewers, and editors must remain respectful, timely, and professional.
