Goal Engagement, Meaning in Life and Psychological Well Being Among University Students

The current study explores goal engagement, meaning in life, and psychological well-being among university students has been analyzed. University life comprises many academic, career, and social hurdles that might impact students well-being. This paper adopts a quantitative research approach and analyzes data gathered through a survey conducted on a sample of 800 university students aged 18 to 30 years studying at the University of Gujrat, Pakistan. The data was collected through stratifies sampling. The goal engagement scale, meaning in life questionnaire, and Ryff’s psychological well-being scale were used to measure the study variables. The findings of the study revealed positive correlation between goal engagement and psychological well-being, and meaning in life. The regression analysis results showed that goal engagement positively predicted both psychological well-being, and meaning in life. This study emphasizes the role of goal engagement and meaning in life are important variables to predict psychological well-being among university students. This research will make practical applications for psychologists, counselors, teachers, and educational institutes to implement interventions for improving students’ well-being.
