Abstract

Smart technology in the fashion world resulted in smart wearable textiles becoming a new addition to the traditional textile industry, which brings functional aesthetics by combining smart into fashion. This survey aims to publish the development and main advances of smart fashion focusing mainly on the key advanced materials, nano technology, Ai, IoT and flexible electronics which bring the revolution to the textile by turning it into a smart and interactive garment. Smart textiles can be used for healthcare (checking health in real-time), wearable fitness trackers or in the military and fashion which can monitor the environment or takes adaptive responses. The research investigates the influence of AI-influenced tools, 3D printing and technology communication systems (5G, edge computing) on the future innovations in smart fashion. The problems of high cost of production, scalability and privacy and sustainability requirements, while rapid innovation challenges remain in its way. This review discusses the role of novel materials to overcome these challenges, as well as energy-efficient techniques coupled with secure IoT infrastructures. With its potential to bridge the gap between innovation and mass-adoption and transform clothes into a medium for technology near-physiological collaboration in a more sustainable and intelligent manner.
