Peer Review Policy

The Prime Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (PJSSH), published by Research Journals Online (SMC-Private) Limited, follows a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure the publication of high-quality, original, and impactful research. The journal is committed to maintaining fairness, objectivity, and academic integrity throughout the review process.

Review Model

PJSSH adopts a double-blind peer review system, in which:

  • The identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential

  • Manuscripts are evaluated solely on academic merit, originality, and relevance

Each submission is reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field.

Initial Screening

Before peer review, all manuscripts undergo an initial editorial evaluation to assess:

  • Alignment with the journal’s aims and scope

  • Compliance with author guidelines

  • Plagiarism screening (maximum 19% similarity threshold)

Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be rejected without external review.

Reviewer Selection

Reviewers are selected based on:

  • Subject-matter expertise

  • Research and publication experience

  • Absence of conflicts of interest

The editorial board ensures that reviewers maintain high ethical standards and provide unbiased, constructive feedback.

Review Criteria

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and contribution to the field

  • Theoretical and methodological rigor

  • Clarity of presentation and structure

  • Relevance to social sciences and humanities

  • Validity of results and conclusions

Reviewers are encouraged to provide detailed, constructive comments to support authors in improving their work.

Review Timeline

Reviewers are typically given 2–4 weeks to complete their evaluation. The editorial office strives to ensure timely processing and communication with authors throughout the review cycle.

Editorial Decision

Based on reviewer reports, the editor may make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept

  • Minor Revisions

  • Major Revisions

  • Reject

Authors receive anonymized reviewer comments along with the editorial decision.

Revisions

Authors are required to:

  • Address all reviewer comments carefully

  • Submit a revised manuscript within the given deadline

  • Provide a point-by-point response to reviewers

Revised manuscripts may be sent for further review if necessary.

Confidentiality and Ethics

  • All manuscripts are treated as confidential documents

  • Reviewers must not use unpublished data for personal or professional advantage

  • Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed immediately

Appeals

Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a formal request with justification. Appeals are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief and, if necessary, additional independent reviewers.

Commitment to Quality

PJSSH is dedicated to maintaining a fair, timely, and high-quality peer review process that supports academic excellence and contributes to the advancement of social sciences and humanities research.
