The AI-Augmented Educator: Transforming Teaching Practices, Professional Development, and Educational Administration in the Digital Age

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing education by redefining teaching methods, professional growth and school management. In this study, the role of AI in the development of an AI-augmented educator and its perceived contribution to education's effectiveness were explored. A descriptive/cross sectional quantitative approach was used to which 300 Educational institutions (public and private) educators and administrative personnel responded. A structured 5-point Likert scale questionnaire was used to collect the data, which focused on four aspects of AI-supported educational administration: AI-supported teaching practices, AI-supported professional development, AI-supported educational administration, and perceived educational effectiveness. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis in SPSS. High scores were observed in AI-supported teaching practices (M = 3.91, SD = 0.67), professional development (M = 3.84, SD = 0.71), educational administration (M = 3.76, SD = 0.73) and perceived educational effectiveness (M = 3.88, SD = 0.65). The results showed that there was a significant positive correlation between AI-supported teaching practices and educational effectiveness (r = .68, p < .01), followed by professional development (r = .64, p < .01) and educational administration (r = .61, p < .01). The regression analysis results revealed significant predictor variables such as teaching practices (β = .40, p < .001), professional development (β = .29, p < .001) and educational administration (β = .27, p < .001) for the variance of educational effectiveness (R² = .58). The study concludes that effective application of AI can enhance the instructional, professional and administrative capacities of educators with proper training and policies, institutional structures and participatory decision-making.
